My 15 year old son received his new Bass Trombone after a month and half wait. He was so excited for this as it was his Christmas present that we ordered for him. He is using in Jazz Band and High School band for now. He also will be using it for Marching Band next season. Its a beautiful instrument and preforms very well!

Overall a really good instrument for the price. The outer slide had some gritty substance on the inside (I assume leftover from manufacturing), but a thorough cleaning and good slide grease fixed that problem. The slide lock can be a bit finicky, but otherwise, the construction quality all around is excellent. Tuning slides and valves are all nice and smooth, and the water key is airtight (a spare cork, rotor bumpers, and slide bumper are also included which is nice). On top of that, it sounds great and has no discernable intonation issues. I would highly recommend anyone who is in the market for a bass trombone to seriously consider this particular model.

I bought this horn several months ago as I wanted to double on Bass Trombone, with Tuba being my main instrument. Perhaps it is not the greatest bass trombone around, but for the price point it is essentially impossible to complain. My only two complaints are that the mouthpiece I received with it was much better suited to be a large-bore tenor mouthpiece than a bass mouthpiece, and that it would be essentially impossible to hold without a grip of some kind. Luckily, those both have easy and relatively cheap solutions: buy a better mouthpiece and get a trombone grip. I look forward to possibly buying more brass from Wessex in the future, as I have been quite satisfied with this first purchase.

This is a good horn for the price. I am not a professional but play for fun. It sounds good. The triggers are a little awkward for my hand, especially the Gb. I rotated the paddle part and it works better now. I received a 5g mouthpiece with it, which is not great for bass trombone. I had a 1 1/2 g and 1 1/4 g that work better. It also took seven weeks to be delivered. Wessex was very responsive when I enquired after a couple weeks and explained it was en route to the UK from China. I would buy from them again.

It was a gift to my grandson who is thoroughly enjoying it. It seems to be well-made and is beautiful. I hope that he will continue to enjoy it for years to come

Good quality, works as it's supposed to. Triggers are in an awkward position - especially for someone with small hands. High range can sound a bit weak, but bottom range is absolutely brilliant

We actually purchased the B Stock version of this horn when it came available. It is a great horn with a nice big full sound. My son loves the horn and looks forward to playing it thru college and into his professional career.
