I look forward to playing my new horn every day. It has resolved most of the problems I had with my Yamaha 321. I'm still puzzled that the horn doesn't blow more freely given the bore size, though. I have checked the valve guides as Jonathan suggested, and they are all properly aligned so that's not the issue. The only thing I absolutely don't like is the valve buttons. The engraving irritates my fingers. Do you have other buttons that are smooth? Somehow, I need to replace them.

I bought this for my granddaughter. She was thrilled!!!!! The sound is rich and much better than the one she had. She needed a more professional instrument - per her teacher - and this one is great and fits the bill. He recommended it and he says it exceeded his expectations.

It has been pretty good so far. I used it in a recent college audition and had only one issue where when I would play around a high A or Bb, this ringing sound would happen. It happened in both the practice room and on stage, so it seems to be the instrument, but I have not had any other problems besides that.

I wanted to purchase my own Euphonium as I’m currently between bands. I did consider buying a 2nd hand pro Euph but never having owned new and reading reviews I decided to buy the Dolce. I’m an ex professional musician having been an army bandsman in the past so I do know the difference between a decent and poor quality instrument. The Dolce doesn’t disappoint and plays as good, if not better than expected. The quality seems very good, especially at this price point. There were a couple of very small issues that I raised with Wessex and they were quick to respond. The valves are bedding in nicely, the intonation is excellent and the sound is exactly what I was hoping for. The valves are vented, (this isn’t mentioned on the Dolce advert), playing legato is so smooth thanks to this. I use a Denis Wick SM3 Ultra mouthpiece but did have a quick blow on the Wessex supplied mouthpiece. The Wessex one seems ok and would be perfectly useable for most players. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and enjoying my new Euphonium.

I have been playing my EP100 Dolce Euphonium now for over a year. And I can't even put to words how amazing this horn is. And the service that I got from Wessex is wonderful. When I got my horn initialy, I found that it was missing a Grime Gutter. But when I sent an email with my issue, they sent me one right away. I recommend for any Euphonium players who are looking to get a new horn that you buy the EP100 right away. It is an amazing horn for the price. I will never regret this purchase.

I have really enjoyed my horn and can't justify the way higher-priced horns that are comparable. Others in my band section have purchased them and we are enjoying the Wessex sound and quality together.

This was my first euphonium. I played trumpet and tuba in high school. 52 years later I discovered a community band in my area. A retired band director told me I should play euphonium. I’m glad he did. I am enjoying playing the Dolce. I believe it was a good choice for my first euphonium. Good price for a compensating euphonium. Sound and intonation is good. It’s serving me well. My biggest disappointment was the finish. I don’t normally have issues with corrosion. I play acoustic guitar and don’t corrode the strings at all. The finish is wearing off pretty much everywhere I make contact with the horn. It’s an aesthetic thing, not changing the performance that I can tell. I’m enclosed some photos.

I am sorry to see you have had lacquer wear off. That is usually people which have acidic sweat which over time eats away the lacquer. That is one problem of lacquered horns. Not much we can do about that problem. It occurs with all brands. Too late for you now, but the only solution to avoid is wear gloves while playing, or at least clean the touch points after use to minimize.
