I'm very pleased with this horn. It has a very good sound and good intonation. It's quite solid, and the valve action is fast and smooth. It's a pleasure to play this horn, and the silver finish seems flawless. The case is also nice and solid. Delivery was quite fast. Highly recommended!

Great Instrument, super finish, valves are starting to respond well after a session of playing in , tuning is good throughout the range and the added bonus of the choice of tuning slides is a great idea. Overall , after switching from a Prestige euphonium I was more than happy with my choice. Thanks for great customer service , and I would reccomend you to everyone.

This is a nice instrument with very good build quality and a great sound. I do experience a lot of water in the valves that can be difficult to remove. This happens when I am playing the horn at a parade.

I've been wanting to purchase this horn for over a year. The Cyber-Monday sale was the push I needed to make the decision. Horn arrived early and in good shape (slight damage to the case though - not major). I'm really happy with the quality of the product. Tone is excellent and it has a great feel. Now to work in the valves! Highly recommend the process and the product.

I am a retired band director and an amateur player who was fortunate enough to perform four seasons with the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band in Crossville, TN. I played euphonium on a Besson 967 and baritone on a Yamaha 621. Both are fine professional level instruments. Three years ago I gave up playing with the SSSBB and recently decided that keeping an $8,000 euphonium and a $6,000 baritone in my closet and only playing on them occassionally just did not make since. I began looking for less expensive instruments that would play almost as well as my two professional horns. I have purchased a Wessex BR144P Baritone and a Wessex EP100 euphonium. The Wessex instruments are very well made and finished with great attention to details. They play and respond well with excellent intonation across the entire register. Do the Wessex instruments play as well as my 967 and 621? No......but they are close enough that my Besson and Yamaha are now for sell. The biggest difference between the $6,000 Yamaha 621 baritone and the $1,300 Wessex 144 baritone is the price. The Wessex is all the horn that most players will ever need!

The delivery was on time and the instrument was packed properly. The service was really great, because I made a mistake regarding the invoice, but the Wessex-team helped me fixing the problem. Thank you!

I was really surprised by the quality of the baritone horn when it arrived: beautiful finish, worthy feeling, the valves moving very smoothly, all slides moving easy. When I tried out the instrument with my mouthpiece, tuning was very sharp, but now I play it with a Schilke 51C4 and it is very good in tune (442 Hz). I have played a lot with the instrument until now and I am very satisfied with it: Technically in a very good condition, the tuning is really okay and can easily be adjusted with the embuchure. It sounds very good in deep as well as in high range and is easy to blow. I bought it for playing in smaller ensembles and for bohemian polka, where I prefer a slim tone (I don't know if that is common in English - in German it's a "schlanker Ton") to the fat tone of the euphonium. In comparison to my Courtois euphonium, the intonation is better all in all, because there is no note that is too far out of range. The fact, that it is a compensating instrument with four valves was the reason for me to try the instrument, and what shall I say: I am very glad that I ordered the instrument.
