I love everything about the Baritone accept when you screw back down the valves it is very hard to line up so they screw back straight. >

The instrument plays well and feels solid, well built and responsive. Tone and tuning are excellent and it's a pleasure to play. Unfortunately there was one small teething problem and a minor niggle - the water key on the 4th valve had not been tightened and fell apart, losing the cap and the internal spring in the process. Wessex sent a new one out by return of post and there's been no further problem. The minor niggle is that the black plastic cap on the 4th valve water key suffers from the same problem as that on the Dolce euphonium and the Bombino Eb bass - it's too small to fit correctly so gradually eases its way off. It's purely cosmetic so affects nothing, but it's a small indication of a lack of attention to detail, however unimportant.

A band I play in has recently gotten 1. I play tested it, and was pleasantly surprised. Tone was consistant across the range. Full tone, able to blend across the band. Took more in the loud dynamics to sound like a trombone! Normal intonation problems. Blowed freely. As a euphonium/trombone player, even tho the horn is smaller I didn't feel overly cramped holding it. I usually avoid baritones, but if I had to by 1 for myself this would be it.

Good service and very prompt delivery.. The 4valve baritone I purchased is what I expected and not disappointed. One issue which took a few days to locate the problem, was the main waterkey arm was occasionally being depressed dependent on how I held the instrument. The result was alarming. However, I've resolved the issue, but suggest a stronger spring on that particular waterkey. Thanks.
