“I am very happy with the Baritone BR140. It's the first time that I play a baritone after years of trumpet and cornet playing between my retirement age of 65 and my actual age of 85! as an amateur player. Adaptation was easy. The sound is warm and the instrument speaks easy. The conductor of our band was happy withe the sound.”

“My first Wessex purchase, and my first proper British style baritone. I was only expecting to play a bit of second baritone part time, but ended up playing the 1st baritone part(I'm normally a euph player). The valve action was quite smooth, and even tone across the range. Intonation was also good, but the 6 1/2 A mouthpiece was a little too dark for my ideal sound. I ended up in a Bach NY 8, with a 6 1/2 AL being a darker second. The valves did have some considerable manufacturing gunk, and I've used the provided brushes to clean it several times now.”

“Overall great horn. I have had it for a short period of time, but have fallen in love with it. I typically play euphonium instead of baritone but will be switching to this horn being my main go-to. I am an intermediate player so I'm not sure how well a professional would find this instrument but I think it would stand well against any professional horn with very few exceptions. The tuning and intonation are very good. I had heard that there might be issues with some of the valves making noise but they are great and move seamlessly and quietly. In the future, I do plan on buying a euphonium from Wessex, but for now, I am very happy with this one, and think that anyone looking for a baritone would be suited well with this horn.”
