“It arrived promptly. Shorter in length than I imagined but it was the length specified. Thought this one-piece pole would be more stable in high winds than the Davis two-piece equivalent and think experience has proved me right. Very good quality mounting bracket and substantial 4 fixing screws - wondered if the fence post they were going to be screwed into was sturdy enough but it was. Perhaps I drilled the pilot holes with too small a drill bit but always wary of making them too big and screws then not holding properly. Once mounted it is very solidly affixed although top of pole & Davis Vantage Vue does still shake a bit in gale force winds, affecting rain gauge in the process! One piece of advice - make sure you have the correct sizes of spanners/ring spanners/socket set before starting to mount the pole. I had to go search out mine only to discover the 1/2" socket was missing from the socket set. A ring spanner sufficed once I got the screws aligned into their pilot holes but the socket set would have been far less effort. All in all a worthwhile purchase and a sturdy piece of kit.”

“I had to turn the mounting bracket around back to front to allow it to fix to my wall. Even though i fixed it so the station was above my roof edge, the bracket was not deep enough so the pole would go past my barge board. I also had to flatten the round pole slightly so that the mounting bracket clamp would grip properly on it. The station pole does not fix securely to the mounting pole so i had to fix a tek screw through it to stop it spinning.”

“OK but a bit clunky and tricky to put up - I drilled holes in the post I was using. Would be a lot easier with two people. Could be a bit more rigid.”
