“Purchased to replace a 21yo Oregon Scientific Weather Station. which had a failed transmitter and unable to replace. Also only wanted a battery unit. For a much newer weather station designed in Germany(?) to say I'm disappointed in the Technoline WS9040 is an understatement. 1. Not intuitive to set up / use - to get it working the supplied guidance book is necessary but not easy to follow. 2. Unit appears to be unstable in use. Time is frequently lost and needs to be reset to BST each time. 3. Compared to Met Centre data (from phone), the barometer readings are incorrect. The Oregon unit was much better in this respect. 4. No illumination light is a real pain (and demonstrates how poorly designed this unit is). 5. Barometer scrolling is a really annoying feature (other reviewers state this also). And it's not mentioned in the Weather Shop info. Why not just give readout values. 6. Contacted Weather Shop to discuss performance and essentially given the Brush Off. Conclusion: I cannot recommend this weather station as a useful unit (even if for home interest use only).”

“All good but annoyingly clock is an hour fast as it does not automatically tune to winter time”

“This one, a replacement, suffers from the same defect as the first, in that the barometer history never stops flashing. Very, very disappointing.”

“One of the easiest weather machines to install, just put the batteries in and everthing started working,worked through the settings and weather machine was working instantly.”
