I built and shaped a separate timber mount to fix this new station in an upright position and to the correct compass bearing on the side of my garage facia. I have housed the second temperature sensor in my Stevenson screen. Nearby buildings and trees at my site give localised wind velocity that differs from the overall wind flow. General data transmission from the new station sensors via its console and onto the websites works well. The accuracy of temperature sensors compares well with my other thermometers and public media. However, the rainfall and atmospheric pressure data reports are not correct. On the day I type this, the Met Office shows the pressure is approx 1020mb and the station console shows a similar absolute value of 1018mb. However, the console sends a much higher relative pressure value of approx 1040mb to the websites. I am 20 metres above sea level so would expect both the absolute and relative values to be the same. I haven't seen a way to adjust this. The new station underreports rainfall when compared with my copper funnel gauge which has given similar figures for decades to published data. For example, very light rain and drizzle has been falling here most of today and measures 1.7mm in my copper gauge so far. However, the new station console only reported 0.3mm at 4 am and nothing more since. So, I tested it by manually and slowly tipping a further 1.2mm into the station funnel and heard 4 clicks and 4 lots of water fall out underneath but the console data only increased by 0.3mm and not 1.2mm. I haven't seen anything inside that may foul the movement of the shute.

Very happy with the equipment. Does exactly what it says. Very straightforward to install and get going. Only one minor criticism would be that the manual could do with a bit of a refresh as far as web-site set up is concerned. Other than that, very pleased with my purchase.

Been in use now for over a week, seems like a decent unit. Like being able to upload data to the two websites. One thing that bothers me is the temperature sensor is up on the pole in full sunlight and may give higher than normal readings than being in the shade.

Thank you for your 4-star rating of the ACCUR8 DWS7100 7-in-1 Complete Solar-Powered WiFi Weather Station. We are glad to hear you've been using the unit for over a week. We agree that the temperature sensor being in full sunlight may cause it to produce less accurate readings. Thank you again for your loyalty.

Over the years we have had several different weather stations, this one is by far the best we have had. Very easy to assemble and use, looking forward to fully using this and would highly recommend this product.

I have only had the weather station for three weeks so cannot comment on long term reliability. Plus points: Clear instructions to set up Easy to read display Easy to connect to WeatherUnderground and Weather Cloud - and there's a helpful youtube video if you do get stuck. Comprehensive Monitoring Some minor negatives: Cable from mains adaptor is far too short The barometer was very inaccurate on my display - had to input a massive offset to correct Can only connect to the two weather sites mentioned above, and not other sites. Also you cannot download data locally Firmware upgrade instructions are poor and I haven't yet worked them out Overall Conclusion A great bit of kit for the price, but you need to be aware of the small limitations. Also to note - sales support was a little patchy - I had to chase by phone for the answer to a query.

Thank you so much for the 4 star rating, Paul! We appreciate your honest reviews on the weather station. We’re sorry you had to chase up your query, it’s possible that some of our support emails have been ending up in spam or junk folders and we’re looking into ways in which we can reduce that.

Comprehensive weather station, easy to set up basic functions. Screen is not a touch screen, buttons to select functions are on the edge, fiddly and difficult to see in low light conditions. To select some functions it does take many button presses making it hard to access whatever you need. Getting the monitor to access wifi and internet was not immediately clear or easy to do, but once set up seems stable and reports to the Wunderground network without problems. This brand is not listed by another network, so again hard to set up. However, so long as your primary interest is a stand-alone system it works well. The additional sensors all linked in seamlessly, and have a good range. Overall well worth considering if a touch screen isn't a necessity.
