“Finding work shoes for long shifts is so hard. You think you've finally found the perfect pair, but a week later, the fancy support stuff has give up, your toes are killing you, and they're somehow worse than the supermarket specials you grabbed to get you through until payday.
I'm in my 40s, a a little tubby, everything aches after a long day and things get on my pip much more than they used to. So, as bone fide Karen if I say these shoes are great, maybe that'll give you confidence. Previously I'd splurged on some name-brand shoes, supposedly perfect for nurses, marketed that way in their special work collection but I can barely make it through a long day in them (and they stink..?!?!). So, new shoes.
I wasn't convinced by the free insoles that came with these shoes, gimmick? Probably. Settled on a medium and went to work. I felt amazing in them but felt perhaps I could try the firm the next day, you can't see a great difference but you can feel it! I felt like it improved my posture when walking as well which I wasnt expecting and was an absolute joy, definitely not a gimmick. My knees don't hurt after shift now, I used to get horrendous naggy, restless legs at the end of the day too which has lessened significantly. I used to get out the car after driving home and my feet would feel like I was wearing flippers, slapping along the ground with me feeling every bone and every bit of pressure. Not with these shoes. Oh and my weird hip pain has gone too.
The other thing I love about these shoes is the grip. I mean, besides the fact if I fall in a laundry skip in a darkened room I'll definitely be found due to the dayglo yellow soles, reassuring. But the grip!! I walked over the entrance matting and nearly lost my foot!! Fantastic! Stuck like velcro. Cue trying out every texture flooring on the way to the ward to see what else my new super, mega, wonder shoes were impervious to. I can confirm, grippy when wet too, no more middle age toddling about for fear of slipping and doing a hip. (I'm also convinced I've got faster on my crash call runs too!!)
This is a long a waffley review but as someone who has struggled for so long with such horribly uncomfortable shoes and associated aches and nightly deep heating just to get relief enough to sleep... I needed someone else to know these shoes are a god send.
Downside? They are still a bit ugly, sorry. Overall practical, they definitely fit the uniform policy in my trust, does everything they claim to do on the box, wonderfully comfy and they dont stink after a shift.
I am normally a size 6 (occasionaly wide fit depending on the shoe type) but find enclosed shoes tend to be a bit narrow, especially after all day on my feet so went for a 6.5 and they fit like a glove. Not sure if that, or indeed any of this waffle, will be useful to anyone.”

Comfy, light, warm, bouncy, just what you need for a 12 hour shift. I will get another pair again next year when 1 of the 2 I bought 4 years ago needs replacement.”
