They are lighter because they have been specially developed to biodegrade, but should work just as well as other household gloves on the market.
As these gloves are designed to completely biodegrade under composting conditions, it is very important to maintain the gloves properly. Therefore, please try to air dry and keep out of direct sunlight as the humidity and heat will speed up the breakdown process. Hope this is helpful for you.
