“I've changed over to these instead of the plastic containing sponges I had- love that feature. Not quite as good as scaroring as a plastic, but good enough. Holds washing liquid/cleaning fluid much better - definitely use less! Sponge side can be a little stiff to start with and also once it's dried out- just wet again and squeeze them it's fine.”
Hello,
Loofah fibres are naturally coarse and have good scrubbing power, yet gentle enough for for non-scratch pans. If you require more heavy duty cleaning, we suggest our copper scourers and if the sponge is a little stiff to start with we recommend popping them in the dishwasher or washing machine.
“Find it a little stiff! Would prefer it to be more flexible. However, I do like it and can see that it would last a long time unlike other sponges. I also live the idea that it can go in the food bin”
Hello Alexandra
Thanks for reaching out
The sponge scourers need to be dried out before they can be packaged and dispatched out to customers. So we advise to rinse under water and give them a little massage before use to soften up, the sponges will become more soft upon continued use with washing up liquid. They will also soften up with usage so the longer you use it for, the softer and more malleable it gets. You can speed this up by popping it into the washing machine or dishwasher a few times.
“Excellent and robust sponges. Much more dense and fuller in the hand vs yellow and green sponges. And I feel so happy knowing they are made from bamboo and are a sustainable product.”
“Great for washing up, as good if not better than a standard sponge. I will mention that the scourer side of the washing up sponges shed fibres, this isn't a criticism but worth noting that you might need to check you've rinsed items well enough after washing!”
