Hi Elspeth, thanks for your feedback. We have taken this onboard and have since improved our sponge design. We're continuously working to improve our products so we hope you will give them a go again.
“These bags are great in that they are made of plant based materials and so biodegrade. You can’t overfill them and they stick a little to the inside of our bin, but wiggling then gets them out. I am really pleased to have found an alternative to plastic bin liners and will continue to use them.”
“Finding that due to having liquids in the bin, these are getting holes in. I don’t think they are going to work well for us although I would like to make them work.”
Hi Liz, most standard bin liners are made from oil-based plastics but our liners are made from corn starch & plant oils so that when they biodegrade down they aren't harming the planet. Our top tips for using them are:
👉 Avoid binning hot liquids, grease & dust
👉Change your bin more regularly to avoid over-filling (keeping in mind that they are liners for your bin, not bags to stuff full!)
👉 Pop kitchen roll, or a piece of waste cardboard in the bottom of your liner to soak up any juices
I really hope this helps, do feel free to ask us any questions 😊
“This is the first eco bag I've tried and I was a bit apprehensive. Amazingly they are really strong and I haven't noticed any difference compared to my normal plastic one.s. Well done Seep!”
“I was afraid those compostable bin bags will not be strong enough but I am amazed!
Super resistant, super strong, very well waterproof too. Highly recommend. Fast delivery & nice packaging :)”
