“Our one year supply was delivered quickly in the first week of December. After a couple of uses the sponge and loofah relaxes a bit and achieves its most effective state.
Having been through the Christmas mayhem the pad is still holding up well and I think it will last for at least a month.
I find the cellulose sponge better than a synthetic one and it removes grease from baking trays more effectively. It also wipes down the induction hob well.
I still need a standard scrubber for burnt on stuff, but that's the same as when I was using standard sponges
Overall very pleased.”
“These are the best washing up sponges/scourers I have bought. Last for ages and clean pots better than any plastic alternative I have used. They may seem expensive but do last longer than others and the fact they can be composted is a great geen credential.”
“I was so fed up of using horrible plastic sponges and was very pleased to find these! They work well too and look like they will last a lot longer than a month”
“These sponges are great. They are long lasting and sturdy, so clean dishes perfectly and easily last a month. Such a difference to the plastic sponges that lose their scour after a few cleans or can’t be rinsed or washed.
After a month I cut the loofah sponges in small pieces and compost at home; zero waste.
There is definitely no going back for us now.”
“I was dubious when my daughter in law bought these impresses by their green reference. However, I was so impressed using them at their house I have bought them for my own home and my mothers! The loafer side removes even stubborn marks and the sponge cleans cups without staining like cheaper sponges do. Fantastic”
“These sponges are just great. The scourer part works really well - even better than the plastic ones. And I love the fact that at the end of their lives, you can put them on the compost heap.
I would have given this review 5 stars but the one thing I don't like is that they are made in China so sadly have a lot of associated air miles. Please Seep - look to sourcing these in UK and you will have a perfect story to tell.”
Hello Rachel, thanks so much for your review. We're so glad you like the products. We also totally understand your feedback about sourcing these from China. It's not a decision we've made lightly but we have thought it through and tried to optimise as much as we can. We source from an ethically approved factory and audit each batch. The loofah is also grown in China (they are one of the largest producers in the world and produce the highest quality) so we're manufacturing close to source. We don't air freight but send everything by sea and then offset 3.5 times our carbon footprint with our charity partners at On A Mission.
We're not ruling out sourcing this closer to home but at the moment the manufacturing base closer to home isn't willing or able to do it and the way we produce these (stitched by machinists) would make the prices even higher.
We aren't giving up though and will continue to understand how we can do better.
Thanks again for ordering and sharing your views.
