“The sponges aren’t robust enough. I’ve found myself going through one sponge every fortnight, which feels excessive for something meant to be eco-friendly. At the current price point, this isn’t sustainable for my budget either.”

Hello Deborah, We are sorry that you have found this. The sponge scourers need to be dried out before they are packaged and dispatched to customers. Rinse under water and give them a little massage before use to soften up, the sponges will become softer upon continued use with washing up liquid. They will also soften up with usage so the longer you use it, the softer and more malleable it gets. You can speed this up by popping it into the washing machine or dishwasher a few times. ,
“I have only used the sponge scourer so far, but am very happy with it and it feels good not to be using plastic. The scouring side works well on my grill rack. My only slight issue is that the sponge remains damp for ages after use, even propped up in hot weather, which makes me a bit concerned that any bacteria might thrive in that environment.”
“Love the concept but two of the pack of 4 developed a split between the soft/scouring part of the sponges almost immediately and the scourers just don't really cut it, so they don't last as long as I was hoping for the money.”
“The sponges are great so far. They seem really sturdy and don't wither away like the usual yellow and green ones. Will definitely continue to be used these. Love that they don't damage the environment.”
“I will never go back to supermarket scourers. This is the way forward. I've been longing to kick the plastic in the kitchen, and these sponges are brilliant; they last twice as long, and I can put them in the compost.”
