The British Blanket Company is a family-run business bringing colour, comfort and warmth to homes all over the UK and beyond. Founded by siblings Bethan and Joe, we’re passionate about creating beautiful blankets that feel as good as they look.

Our designs begin in our Bristol studio, where we pair joyful colour palettes with timeless patterns. Each blanket is then woven at traditional mills around the British Isles using natural, sustainable fibres like wool and recycled cotton.

What makes us special is our focus on quality, craftsmanship and sustainability. We work closely with our makers and choose materials that are kind to both people and the planet.

“I utterly love my rainbow herringbone stripe blanket! I became smitten with the design and the company after searching far and wide for a warm wool (yet not heavy) blanket made sustainably and preferably from a small business. The warmth and comfort radiated from this blanket is phenomenal. Quite frankly feels as if you're sleeping under a tightly woven cotton ball! The blanket only softly caresses the skin adding to the feeling of fluffiness and space. Besides its sensational ability to maintain warmth, the blanket also has a great compacity to keep one cool as well (if in a reasonably cool environment because if you begin to sweat you will continue to sweat). It is important to mention that the blanket does NOT make me itchy or irritated in any way! Not the dyes nor the texture. Also, if this is a problem of concern for you as it was for me, the blank is NOT heavy or weighted any differently than a normal polyester throw. My body is quite sensitive to textures, weights, and tightnesses and this blank does not simulate any of those sensory issues. Based on the want that you'd like to buy from a quality small business, support sustainably sourced material, and don't mind paying a small amount more to acquire all these things, there is no doubting to be done with purchasing this blanket.”
