“My favorite winter apparel ever. I bought a size bigger to be able to layer up under it for Canadian winters, and the fit is perfect. If I don't need more than one thin baselayer, I can always tighten it up. The hood fits perfectly as well. Although very light, it's surprisingly very warm. At -10C I can wear it with a Soar merino baselayer. It also feels very durable. I've worn it for 4 months to commute with na backpack, and there's practically no sign of wear. Although not waterproof, the water repellency is amazing. When it snows, it doesn't go through. Wind proofing is also very good. It's expensive, but if you run a lot in cold temperatures, it's worth every dollar.”
“I bought this jacket because the blurb states it can "brave mountain storms" and you can " enjoy running whatever the weather". Its a great fit and very comfortable and it looks great
BUT!
Do not go running in the mountains in this garment if it's raining. I have worn it twice on wet windy runs and it wets through completely in about an hour. I gave it the benefit of the doubt after the first run as I was running in a storm. Do not get caught out in this garment without a backup.
For £350 I would expect better.”
Hi Danny,
Thank you for your review and I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the Anorak. Our Anorak can last between 60-90 minutes in moderate rain. This information can be found on our shell guide which is linked here: https://www.soarrunning.com/pages/soar-shell-guide
For heavier rain we recommend wearing our fully waterproof jackets the Nano Jacket or our Trail Rain Jacket
