Some of the new features in Version 7:

* DataClean - Clean up names and places in your database with this powerful tool
* File Compare - Compare your RM7 databases to see any differences and to copy data between them to get them back in sync
* Backup Media - you can now backup and restore media items with your database
* Named Groups - easy access lets you quickly edit which groups and individual belongs to
* Drag and Drop Media - drag and drop media items into your Media Albums
* Import Lists - pre-populate a new database with lists from another database, such as sources and source templates, fact types, etc.
* Websites - new enhancements including password access
* MyRootsMagic - new accounts to simplify creating websites
* Improved Problem Alerts

“Very impressed with some of the features in RootsMagic 7. So easy to build a tree from a GEDCOM file and keep my Ancestry account in line with my RootsMagic tree. Have only been using it a couple of days but have found it very easy to get along with. The videos that show how to get the best out of the software are very helpful and I would recommend taking the time to view these, as there are some great tips in them. Very pleased that I made the upgrade, as it is such a powerful program.”

“Disappointed with the Descendent List. Older versions the list in three columns - Name, Born, Died. Now displayed without distinguishion between columns. Can I change settings somewhere to achieve the three columns?”

“Very easy to navigate and use and its very similar to Family Tree Maker. I was able to use the file from my existing Family Tree Maker software with Rootsmagic 7. I really liked the web feature where you can search for hints and records from websites such as ancestry, rootsweb, family search and many others. I only just wished there was more features with the charts and reports. Overall one of the best family tree database software packages on the market. I would highly recommend this.”

“Love the new features where you can link and ancestry and roots magic tree. You can then use Roots Magic to check for duplication , inconsistent information etc.”

“You can now import data directly into Roots from several other packages and also you can sync your data with Ancestry and Family Search which saves time.”

“After trying several other Trees I settled on Rootsmagic7, works OK for me. With a lot of people on the tree it does take time to get them all entered. But then so would all the others. I'm satisfied”
