A full slipper style, Annie has a seam running down the centre of the vamp, down each side of the slipper, and a seam with a pull-up tag running down the back. The contrast stitching down the sides and around the top of the upper is rustic and works well with the overall natural feel of the brand. Annie is made from carefully selected Merino sheepskin that has a soft, supple outer and warm, woolly interior. To extend the life of the slipper Annie has a sturdy EVA sole, joined to the upper by a robust cotton piping. Given the genuine sheepskin used in the construction of these slippers, they are breathable and temperature regulating, so warm when it is cold, and cool when it is warm. Trust us, this Winter Annie will be your new best friend. Please note: Shepherd do make you aware when buying the printed version of this slipper that the pattern will fade over time and that in order to prevent this you need to handle the slippers with care. Who we are and how is it that we came to be so passionate about shoes?
Like many classics our story revolves around one or two ambitious pioneers, a love affair, war, a family drama, conflict and its resolution. What laces this story together is a connection with the land, and a need to provide for the people of it.
Let’s set the scene of how our business was born. It’s 1905 and Thomas Rogerson sits concentrating over his tools in a shed at the end of a bridge in Rothbury. Motivated by the desire to win the hand of Isabelle, he needs to learn a trade. And so it was that he learnt to repair shepherd’s boots.
Skip forward over 100 years from this humble beginning, and here we are; from robust, carefully crafted tackety boots designed to tackle the heather hilltops, to on-trend trainers in a spectrum of colours, designed to tackle the concrete jungle! Originally sold under canvas at agricultural shows, by mail order or taken directly to farms. Now, displayed using bright light boxes in our high street stores, or sold via easy on-line orders that will arrive at your door.

Our mission now is to stock a vibrant and compelling choice of shoes, boots, sandals, slippers and bags. Made using traditional and progressive manufacturing techniques and a wide range of materials from Gore-Tex to vegetable tanned leathers, our selection is diverse. Ranging from fun, quirky, edgy and joyful designs, to sophisticated classics, to practical waterproof adventure shoes and boots for enjoying the hills.
Different from other footwear retailers in terms of the breadth of our range, we stock many styles that are unique to our business, including colour combinations, prints and lasts. Prioritising pricing, quality and comfort we work on the principle that well-made shoes wear better, are more of a pleasure to wear, and ultimately, are less wasteful.

The Rogerson’s ethos is one of positivity, and we aim to employ happy people who enjoy their work and convey this in their attitude to others. With weekly training on everything from leather, construction techniques and technical features, our staff aim to facilitate a friendly and efficient shopping experience and will go out of their way to bring you all the shoes you fancy trying on! Alternatively, one of our 120 strong team of keen beans will carefully parcel them up for your online orders. We dispatch from both our central warehouse in the pretty town of Peebles, and from our 13 busy stores across Scotland.
