This bespoke Spring/Summer style is available in three variations. The first consists of a sand-effect leather upper with a grey-silver crosshatch effect leather bow, heel cover and upper lining. The second option is available in a deep navy suede with a silver and navy dash-effect leather bow, heel cover and upper lining. Lastly, Satyr is available in black suede with a black-pewter crosshatch effect leather bow, heel cover and upper lining. Beautiful to look at and designed for comfortable wear, Satyr has a supportive, structural shank, a soft, breathable leather lining and insole made from only the highest quality, supple leather, additional cushioning under the ball area of the foot, and a reinforced heel counter to hold your feet securely in position. Their leather lined sole unit is further testament to both the quality and durability of these shoes. Flattering on the feet, Satyr has a 6.5cm high heel with a rubber heel tip. The upper sweeps in above and below the toe, forming an attractive peep-toe. Where the two side shafts meet at the toe there is a bow made of two layers, one shadowing the other, that knot in the middle. Every element of these high heel courts portrays perfection. Who we are and how is it that we came to be so passionate about shoes?
Like many classics our story revolves around one or two ambitious pioneers, a love affair, war, a family drama, conflict and its resolution. What laces this story together is a connection with the land, and a need to provide for the people of it.
Let’s set the scene of how our business was born. It’s 1905 and Thomas Rogerson sits concentrating over his tools in a shed at the end of a bridge in Rothbury. Motivated by the desire to win the hand of Isabelle, he needs to learn a trade. And so it was that he learnt to repair shepherd’s boots.
Skip forward over 100 years from this humble beginning, and here we are; from robust, carefully crafted tackety boots designed to tackle the heather hilltops, to on-trend trainers in a spectrum of colours, designed to tackle the concrete jungle! Originally sold under canvas at agricultural shows, by mail order or taken directly to farms. Now, displayed using bright light boxes in our high street stores, or sold via easy on-line orders that will arrive at your door.

Made using traditional and progressive manufacturing techniques and a wide range of materials from Gore-Tex to vegetable tanned leathers, our selection is diverse. Ranging from fun, quirky, edgy and joyful designs, to sophisticated classics, to practical waterproof adventure shoes and boots for enjoying the hills.
Different from other footwear retailers in terms of the breadth of our range, we stock many styles that are unique to our business, including colour combinations, prints and lasts. Prioritising pricing, quality and comfort we work on the principle that well-made shoes wear better, are more of a pleasure to wear, and ultimately, are less wasteful.

The Rogerson’s ethos is one of positivity, and we aim to employ happy people who enjoy their work and convey this in their attitude to others. With weekly training on everything from leather, construction techniques and technical features, our staff aim to facilitate a friendly and efficient shopping experience and will go out of their way to bring you all the shoes you fancy trying on! Alternatively, one of our 120 strong team of keen beans will carefully parcel them up for your online orders. We dispatch from both our central warehouse in the pretty town of Peebles, and from our 13 busy stores across Scotland.
