46778 Sina is a summery sandal with a woven upper that forms a finger of leather that runs down the centre of the foot from which bands radiate out. This is dappled with small lunar-like craters which soften the otherwise linear effect of the weave. Fitting the sandal securely to your foot is a strap of leather that wraps around the back of the ankle. This is slightly elasticated on each side which allows for some flexibility of fit as well as making it easier for you to slip the sandals on and off. A third aesthetic feature of these attractive, unusual sandals is the curve-cut, hilly edge to the upper. These sit flat against your skin and make for a flattering feature. 46778 Sina is available in various tonal combinations; light grey-denim and shimmering pearlescent taupe, white in combination with silver, taupe and bronze, cloud grey and darkly burnished black-grey and a multicoloured print with navy weave. 46778 Sina is incredibly comfortable, with the soft synthetic leather upper fitting snugly against your foot but still maintaining some stretch so as not to restrict your movement. The footbed is soft and spongy and tops a flexible, shock absorbing PU sole unit that forms a 4cm heel. The heel tapers down and features a thin strip of leather inlay on each side. Bold contrast stitching runs around the contour of the long, curved toe of these sandals where the upper meets the sole. Who we are and how is it that we came to be so passionate about shoes?
Like many classics our story revolves around one or two ambitious pioneers, a love affair, war, a family drama, conflict and its resolution. What laces this story together is a connection with the land, and a need to provide for the people of it.
Let’s set the scene of how our business was born. It’s 1905 and Thomas Rogerson sits concentrating over his tools in a shed at the end of a bridge in Rothbury. Motivated by the desire to win the hand of Isabelle, he needs to learn a trade. And so it was that he learnt to repair shepherd’s boots.
Skip forward over 100 years from this humble beginning, and here we are; from robust, carefully crafted tackety boots designed to tackle the heather hilltops, to on-trend trainers in a spectrum of colours, designed to tackle the concrete jungle! Originally sold under canvas at agricultural shows, by mail order or taken directly to farms. Now, displayed using bright light boxes in our high street stores, or sold via easy on-line orders that will arrive at your door.

Made using traditional and progressive manufacturing techniques and a wide range of materials from Gore-Tex to vegetable tanned leathers, our selection is diverse. Ranging from fun, quirky, edgy and joyful designs, to sophisticated classics, to practical waterproof adventure shoes and boots for enjoying the hills.
Different from other footwear retailers in terms of the breadth of our range, we stock many styles that are unique to our business, including colour combinations, prints and lasts. Prioritising pricing, quality and comfort we work on the principle that well-made shoes wear better, are more of a pleasure to wear, and ultimately, are less wasteful.

With weekly training on everything from leather, construction techniques and technical features, our staff aim to facilitate a friendly and efficient shopping experience and will go out of their way to bring you all the shoes you fancy trying on! Alternatively, one of our 120 strong team of keen beans will carefully parcel them up for your online orders. We dispatch from both our central warehouse in the pretty town of Peebles, and from our 13 busy stores across Scotland.
