Easy to buy and take out but they did not listen to my request that as I was going on holiday and would be unable to send any documents later, I had asked what would be required , which I sent as requested. Returned from holiday to find letter saying they had cancelled the policy because I had not returned another request I could not have known about. Why was a note not put on my file? Luckily I was not using my bike as that could have resulted in a prosecution.

I insured my BMW K1300S using the MCN compare service for one third the quote from my previous insurer, the new policy has all the same benefits but cost almost £400 less - how good is that?

The price given on the BMW Insurance website did not match the price given on MCN Compare, even before I'd added any information whatsoever, which was a surprise. Otherwise, it did what it said on the tin.

Not sure if it's a problem with MCN compare or BMW insurance - but I clicked on the drop menu for the number of years 'accident free'(9 years in my case. However, my old insurer, E-Bike, issued a 'proof of no claims' for "more than 5 years". Because "more than 5 years" is not identical to "9 years" in the eyes of BMW Insurance, my policy was cancelled. Therefore a bit of a (unnecessary) fight / squabble ensued to get this situation rectified and a new policy set up. Additionally, the email that purported to flag this issue up had an all but invisible link (one that I missed) that took me to another site where the 'letter' could be viewed. By the time I found this the deadline had passed and the policy had been cancelled. Certainly not the easiest switch - but at least I now have cover.
