This thing is the perfect kids starter rc to learn the controls. I got the blue model hot rod and the shark. This one has a bonus function I did not realise until starting it. The exposed yellow engine shudders and rattles just like a real monster truck. The bigger wheels mean less time rescuing the car from holes and small bunkers.
It's definitely fast enough but I'm not left wishing that I had brought steel toe cap boots.
If your child likes sharks, monster trucks, steam or moving engines, they will not be dissapointed.
If you are on the fence about buying this product you won't regret jumping off.
I may be incorrect but I believe this is an in house model that is not found at many other retailers. It is clear that the savings made from this have gone straight back into the product itself.
This is an amazing choice for a gift and I would pick this model over the blue or white versions if your trying to introduce the hobby and build interest in RC at a young age.
The blue and white models feel faster but this model is easier to control and has that all important extra wow factor to capture a younger drivers' interest.
Battery life was a good 45 minutes but with the spare battery packs being very reasonably priced you can always buy some spares for those longer days at the beach.
