Maverick Quantum MT Flux V2 80A 1/10 4WD Monster Truck - Blue Reviews

Steering servo screw dropped out after 10mins driving - son wasn't happy on his birthday! No screws seem to have any threadlocker/loctite on them...

Seems ok piece of kit for price but can't understand why screws wouldn't have loctite from factory.

I ordered the Maverick Quantum for my son for Christmas, as it was the one he wanted. He LOVES it. I was really pleased with the choice of packages to go with it, we ordered 2s lipo battery and upgraded charger which my son was really pleased about (did want the 3s battery but we thought we better try the 2s first so he is saving for the 3s). The truck is extremely nippy and durable, my son has got the hang of controlling it really quickly. Battery charges fairly quickly and lasts a decent amount of time. Battery easily swaps in and out also body shell is easy to change. Delivery was really quick and I would definitely order from rcgeeks again.

Excellent truck for the price, very happy with it, very fast on 3s, and no major breakages yet after about 8 packs. It does need some tinkering before running for the first time, primarily setting mesh between pinion and spur gear, and making sure grub screw on drive cup going to front diff is tight, and threadlock anything related to those 2 areas and you’ll avoid early failures there, plenty of mention of the same online and in other reviews. Has taken a fair amount of flips and tumbles and still going strong so I would say built very well for an entry level truck. It faired far better than the Jumpshot that I bought at the same time which has been out of action and needed spares on both its first 2 goes, which Is odd as maverick is hpis cheaper line of models so you’d think the hpi ones would be better made.

This is my first proper RC car and it’s a lot of fun. After looking at lots of cars and watching you tube videos I thought this was a good one for the price. The main body “lid” is a little flimsy, but it doesn’t really affect the fun unless you are doing very destructive crashes. I tried 2s and 3s batteries and both were great.

Fast postage and great service from RC geeks, durability seems fine, yes it will break if you go to skate parks doing 15 foot jumps and so would most other RC cars\trucks, I put bigger M5 washers behind the wheel hex nuts, locktite on drive shaft grub screw and servo horn screw, replaced shock oil with 50wt oil as stock is like thick molasses lol, and she's going great on 3s, this is a lot of truck for little money, and I would not hesitate to use RC geeks again in the future. Thanks

Can't fault this car, bought it for my sons b-day. He and I enjoyed it so much I had to get one for myself. The only let down was one of the wheels wasn't fitted properly resulting in it flying off on the first outting resulting in a trip to a model shop for spare nuts, bolts ect. Apart from this very fast and durable. Would have been a 5☆ if not for the lazy assemble.
