Got this for my 12 year old boy. Never had one before. Had it a week now it’s great, got the extra battery pack as well. Glad I didn’t spend more on one as this ticks all the boxes.

I bought this for my son for his 7th Birthday. We took it out of the box and we could already tell that this was a quality product. The build quality is excellent. It reminded me of a smaller version of the Tamiya car that I had in the 80’s (removable body shell with clips, removable battery with connector etc.). It’s been over 30 years since I had used an RC car and it was a nostalgic delight to see these features again. Granted, these features are probably still standard in the RC industry but hey, I’m 44 years old and it struck a chord with me. We charged the battery for a couple of hours and started it up…….WOW! What a car! I was amazed at how fast this thing was. My son loved it. It took a beating over the next 20 minutes or so: from smashing straight into a fence at top speed to jumping off a 3 foot high trampoline. No breaks, no cracks, incredible. As all young children do on their Birthday when they have another 100 presents to play with, he decided that 20 minutes was enough so I brought the car in and charged the battery again. Whilst my son was preoccupied with other gifts, I wanted to try the car myself so that I could give a proper review of the product. Speed: It’s fast. Faster than I expected for a car designed for an 8+ year child. I took my Tamiya Thundershot out to try to get a comparison and this Racing Wind Speed Buggy seemed faster. Very impressive. Handling: Handles like a dream. As with any relatively quick off-road buggy that requires some form of ground clearance, there is always a chance of body roll when going around corners at high speed. However, this buggy handled high speed turning exceptionally well. Battery Life: I used it for at least 25 minutes and it didn’t seem to get tired. I’m not sure how long it would last overall but a spare battery could offer a solution for extended play. Build Quality: Excellent so far. The buggy has been put through it paces: It’s hit solid objects at top speed; jumped off a trampoline; driven through a puddle. Still works perfectly with no visible damage. Overall: I was considering buying a more ‘mature’ RC car for myself recently. But after playing with this, I might get another one for myself! It’s so much fun and is very reasonably priced. I’m no expert in RC cars and this review is based on a novices interpretation of this hobby. But I had so much fun with it and that, to me, is the most important thing.
