LPR symptoms
“I self diagnosed LPR based on symptoms and was offered only PPIs from my GP. I didn’t want to take these drugs so made diet & lifestyle changes (mainly not eating late in the evening and using an alginate raft OTC medication at bedtime), and looked into buying an anti reflux wedge pillow. This combination has definitely alleviated my symptoms.
The downside of this wedge is that it’s expensive, but it’s handmade in the UK, has a removable cotton cover that you can buy more of and is a longer, lower wedge than the cheap ones you see online. I thought the gentler angle would be more comfortable, as I had a sore neck when wedging my head up on a stack of pillows.
It is comfortable with a slim pillow on top. I do often find I’ve slid halfway down it overnight, and I imagine that would be more so if it was a steeper wedge.
Overall I am pleased with it.”

Acid reflux and shoulder pain.
“The wedge pillow has alleviated the discomfort of acid reflux. It took me about 5 nights to get used to, but the benefits are great. Strangely enough, it has also helped to reduce the pain from a problem shoulder which I have had for decades. I am more than happy with my purchase.”

I recently has a sleeve gastrectomy, and can get some acid reflux discomfort if I sleep flat or on my side without being elevated. The wedge pillow has elevated this.
