Perch and Go Acrylic Parrot Travel Cage Reviews

3.9 Rating 7 Reviews
Read Northern Parrots Reviews

Made using high impact resistant polycarbonate to provide a tough and durable yet lightweight travel carrier your bird can see clearly from, helping to reduce stress.
The back panel and front door are made from stainless steel making the whole cage easy to clean and disinfect.
The Perch and Go Acrylic Carrier comes with a textured perch for use inside the carrier. There are a number of holes on the side so you can adjust the height of the perch. Another perch fits at the top and can be used as a handle making it easy to carry, plus your Parrot can use this top perch as a stand when needed.
The Perch and Go Acrylic Carrier is designed to allow for an even air flow, ensuring the carrier is well ventilated during travel.

CLEARLY needs improvement. It was such a huge relief when I finally managed to put this together. It was a lot of money to waste if I had broken it in the process. I often build flat packs and as this only had a few parts I thought it would be okay. However, I certainly did not find it easy. There was the added anxiety over the material and the fear it would crack. It is not overly big and it would be far better if the manufacturer just sold it whole and already assembled to help and give confidence to the buyer. The holes in the side panels could do with being a little bigger. I believe the plastic perch supplied is unsuitable. Even though it has grooves it is still very slippery and would not give your bird adequate grip. I shall not be using it, and will be adding two or three suitable perches. I think this is particularly important having read the previous review about the poor grey who damaged his beak when he fell forward. As there are only bars on two sides your bird needs other surfaces to grip to ensure their safety and comfort. The lock does not have a smooth action. On the plus side it is very light, easy to carry, and is quite attractive. I would not risk transporting my Quaker outside in it for fear of escape if the acrylic shattered, however it will be useful in transporting him from room to room. If used outside or in a car, it could also act like a greenhouse in sunny weather and your bird would bake. It is not a terrible product but certainly could be improved upon.

Our parents bought us one of these as a gift from another supplier, so we returned ours. We put it together, put our usually calm african grey in it. No fluttering or panic because he could see us. We were delighted. Then we picked the cage up. He lost his balance slightly but because the sides are perspex he couldnt get any kind of foothold and fell forward cutting his face just above his beak. Not for us.
