Creative Foraging Push and Pull Parrot Toy Reviews

The Push and Pull Parrot Toy is part of the Creative Foraging range, great for promoting and challenging your bird to forage.
The clear design allows your bird to easily see their reward and the challenge ahead. Unscrew the top of your bird's Push and Pull Parrot Toy and fill the top section with food and treats. Now screw the lid back on and hang in your Parrot's cage using the stainless steel chain and quick link.
Now watch as your bird's naturally inquisitive mind works out how to make their rewards fall through to the bottom chamber where they can be retrieved and enjoyed.
There are three slats, each has two holes in which your Parrot must learn to push and pull until they line up with the holes in each chamber. Once lined up the food or treats will start to fall through to the next level.
Watch as your bird repeats the task on each slat until their rewards empty out in the bottom chamber.
A great way to make meal times fun.

Previous reviews do not do this toy justice. Although it may not be suitable for African Greys, it is also not going to work if filled with chunky nuts or pellets, but the size of this toy make this quite obvious. However, it is a great foraging toy for smaller birds. I have two green cheek conures who will not leave, until they got the last safflower seed out, using the toy exactly as it was intended to. It would also work equally well with small round shaped pellets.I tied the bottom of this toy to the top of a cage, so it does not get knocked over.It is a well made toy, I cannot fault it. But do not buy it for a bird larger than a GCC.

Every thing I have tried so far is either to big or simply bridges and blocks the holes. The label says fill pellets, nuts, dehydrated fruits etc - did the manufacturer actually try putting anything in this and test it because none of those would have any chance of working!

Firstly, I was disappointed that you could only fit very small treats ie shelled p-nuts through the openings. Secondly, my african grey just shakes the whole thing from side to side until the treats appear at the bottom - almost immediately. No need to push or pull. Not much skill or thought required at all really. He, of course, loves it!Much prefer - parrot's treasure, turn 'n' learn logs, rings of fortune, and snack rack, all of which you can fit a larger treat in and require a bit of effort and thought - especially good for lafeber's nutri-berries.
