“A friend of mine regularly collects my prescriptions for me, and will not accept payment for doing so. I make dinner for him now and then; but occasionally I will buy him a bag of pistachios as a treat. They are his favourite nuts, and he would probably not buy them for himself. The perfect 'thank you' gift that is more appropriate than buying wine that he may not like.”

“Whilst placing my own regular nut order, I bought a bag of Pistachios as a 'stocking filler' for a friend who was staying overnight at Christmas. He was delighted with them, and they really brought a smile to his face. He tends to be a somewhat "careful" pensioner in his purchases, and has not had a pistachio in years - despite it being his favourite nut. I'm confident that this gift was appreciated far more than his main present, and that bag was quite well depleted by the time he left to go home.”
