“I’m a beginner but wanted a detector that was advanced enough that I would not out grow it soon. The 900 was easy to learn and set up. I got going quickly and has features I can learn about as I get more advanced. Very pleased with it.”

“My $120 amazon no-name metal detector was infinitely more accurate with the pin-pointer. All the Nox 900 settings and bells and whistles are great to play with but I have not found any less junk or more treasures than my old one at the same locations. I think all the settings are placebo settings. I still get iron nails that ring up in the 80's, etc. There is no point in notching discrimination settings, anything seems to ring up anywhere. Go look at people's videos of what they find in what ranges. A pull tab is anywhere, a penny is anywhere. A cheap POS can do that too. If you are going to pay that much for something, you are going to tell yourself it's amazing just to justify the price tag. OH it has a light and vibrates! Too bad the target is 10 inches away from where the pin-pointer setting said it was.
Ask me again in a year, maybe I'll find the magic combo of settings that actually work.
As for the free stuff.. I didn't buy from this site because of the free stuff, but just for honest review, the hat is shaped like an Elmer Fud hat, not meant for human heads and the bag is not what is pictured, it's just a weird floppy, plastic, near-useless box that wasn't deigned by someone that has ever been metal detecting or perhaps even outside.
I do love how solid it is and how small it collapses down. Modern Metal Detectors was great to purchase from and has the best deals. I just hope the lower price wasn't because these are the less quality products off the line.”
