Very good staff, the actors were great and the whole experience was very enjoyable. The sets used were excellent. Your writers, though, need to go through history books to see exactly who the real villains were: making out the conspirators were the heroes is pushing the bounds. Treason is treason and after all, it was only 50 years previously that The Queen, Bloody Mary, was burning thousands of those people not of her religious persuasion, in tubs of tar and at the stake. You might be interested to know the full Bonfire Prayers that non of the staff were aware of: Bonfire Prayers Remember, remember the Fifth of November The Gunpowder Treason and plot, I see no reason why Gunpowder Treason Should ever be forgot. Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes ’twas his intent To blow up the King and the Parliament, Three score barrels of powder below Poor old England to overthrow. By God’s providence he was catch’d With a dark lantern and burning match, Holler boys, holler boys, ring bells ring Holler boys, holler boys, God Save the King! A penny loaf to feed the Pope A farthing o’cheese to choke him, A pint of beer to rinse it down A faggot of sticks to burn him. Burn him in a tub of tar Burn him like a blazing star, Burn his body from his head Then we’ll say old Pope is dead. Hip Hip Hoorah! Hip Hip Hoorah! Hip Hip Hoorah! This refers to Pope Paul V, not the present day Pope.

This was a really immersive and well thought-out experience, combining live actors and VR to bring the early 1600s to life. I appreciated the care taken to explain how much of the story was accurate and to point out where changes had been made, and the reflective treatment given to how the plotters can be viewed from today’s perspective. No Union jacks on ships in 1605 though!
