“Good craftsmanship but leather laces a bit of pain. I did ask about Tasker Mole but they seem to be discontunuing this, which is disappointing, as was the predictable request to choose another make, which I didn't want to do. I won't be coming back”
“Fantastic boots - quality and comfort. Advice to opt for a size down was spot on. I’m a 10.5 in some Lanx styles but needed a size 9 in the Bamber, which I normally wouldn’t even have considered.”
“First impressions are these are a well constructed boot with a comfortable foot bed. I'm not digging the leather laces, I found them difficult to tighten compared to regular fabric laces, so have swapped those out. Perhaps they'd have loosened up over time and become easier to use?
The G fit is fairly generous but I find my Loake Bedales with a G fit to be slightly wider. I guess lasts are not all created equal between manufacturers and there will be tolerances.
I don't know what special blend of oils has been used on the aniline leather but they smell quite strongly of strawberry surf wax to the point they've scented the lobby. It's quite pleasant. The distressed leather has already changed colour in the couple of hours I've been wearing them, and I must say it looks smart. This leather wasn't my first choice, but being a size 13, beggars can't be choosers. I seldom get what I want in footwear but I'm happier with the distressed leather look than I thought I would be and now prefer it over my first choice which was the Chestnut leather.
I'm glad I found Lanx, and will probably invest in a pair of their shoes next summer.”
