“A beautiful idea. There's a good balance of references to Pride and Prejudice and new text with gentle humour. Gorgeous illustrations. Please write a companion book with the interiors of Pemberley Mr Darcy.”
“Is a lovely book, excellent idea having Mr Darcy giving you a tour of his estate. Beautiful illustrations. The way it's written and the pictures makes you feel you have been taken around Pemberley. Excellent book”
“Have you ever wished you could wander through Pemberley — not just as a reader, but as a guest?
I’ve just been leafing through Mr Darcy’s Guide to Pemberley by J. B. Grantham, and it is the most elegant, lovingly imagined depiction of that fictional estate I’ve come across. Presented as a guidebook in Mr. Darcy’s own voice (can you imagine!), it leads you through the house and grounds with exquisite watercolours, detailed architectural notes, and even sketches said to be by Elizabeth and Georgiana.
There’s no plot here, no romantic twist — just the quiet, immersive joy of staying in Mr. Darcy’s world a little while longer. The prose is calm and thoughtful, the illustrations rich with atmosphere. It’s the kind of book you linger over slowly, as though walking beside Pemberley’s lake in the late afternoon light.
I think Jane Austen herself would have smiled at the premise. And for those of us who know the story well, it feels like being handed the key to a door that has always been just out of reach.”

“Filled with beautiful drawings, photographs (affected to appear more like watercolors, in a pre-photograph age), and maps, 'Mr. Darcy's Guide to Pemberley' is a welcome addition to any fan of 'Pride and Prejudice' the book, as well as devotees of the 1995 BBC television production. It is written throughout as though by Mr Fitzwiliam Darcy himself. Section by section of the great estate is described, with Lyme Park in Cheshire (the property pictured in the BBC production) as the model. After reading a bit of the book, and delighting in the marvelous pictures, one fully expects to be able to visit this gracious couple, Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth Darcy, in person. They and their home are wonderfully imagined here.”
