“Tried this last night. Used a smaller pan so needed less in terms of milk and gnocchi. Could actually have added more chicken but the dog got it (unsalted, no herbs, deboned, he liked the fried chicken skins too) for training treats. Instead Frankly easier to fry the chicken in a separate pan and add along with rendered fat to the rest before baking in the oven but it was still ok stirring in between I suppose. Adding chilli and lemon squeeze at the end is a good idea & I chucked in a glass of left over white wine. Very tasty. Might try it with a crumble of feta or blue cheese on top and pastry instead of gnocchi is a great alternative…..Also, any veg like frozen peas or spinach instead of sweetcorn works well too. Great basic recipe that can be adapted and the soup is a great hack for this & chicken pot pie.”
