“Made this for Xmas Day , it was delicious and can definitely feed a crowd, I usually make a custard based ice cream but this was really lovely with the clementine flavour, sponge tasted great .too plus can be kept in the freezer and just cut a slice when you fancy . Not waiting until next Xmas to make again . Thanks Jamie”
“I made this prior to Christmas and was so glad to have it in the freezer to serve up following lunch as an alternative to Christmas pudding.
I didn’t find it too problematic to make, but the construction was a bit fiddly.
As it was, everyone opted for this delicious dessert. I will definitely make it next year!”
“Wow! This was a super recipe and what a bonus to have a delicious arctic roll made before Christmas, ready to serve up on the big day.
My guests loved the flavour combinations. I will definitely make this again.”
“I thought the kitchen would be mayhem, but it wasn’t! A miracle! Though I must say, Jamie Oliver makes things look so easy. A little fiddly at times, but worth the effort! I think it will taste unbelievable! You should definitely give this a go.”
“Really easy to make, though make sure you use an electric mixer when mixing the eggs and sugar. Also you have to be quick when you are ready to roll the ice cream in the cake mix. This Christmas log tastes amazing and you love every bit of it”
“I've just made this and the kitchen is an unholy mess. Melting ice cream oozing out of the two ends onto the floor, and I got a phone call right at the point of rolling the ice cream with the sponge, which turned out to be a wrong number. It's in the freezer now and I'm sure it will taste fabulous, despite looking awful.”
“Unbelievably delicious! Can't decide if I'm more excited for Santa to arrive or this cake to make it to the table.
Very easy to follow the instructions and so worth the effort. 1st time making ice cream as well, it's so easy and can't believe I haven't tried before! and this clementine flavour OMG, I needed to keep scooping wee spoonful's to check if it had set yet. Plenty left over but I haven't told anyone that bit yet, thanks to the team for sharing this. I have a feeling it will be a firm favourite for years to come.”
