“Made this for a celebration veggie dinner, served with roast vegetables and steamed curly kale. Delicious combination of ingredients and very clear instructions. Took a while to make it the first time, but would be much quicker next time round. Chestnut pastry is a winner. I saw this on the Christmas show - all the recipes looked great. Thank you for making everything available on the website - I do buy the books as well!”
“I made this for New Year's Dinner. I loved the chestnut crust it was tasty and even though it is a savory crust I would use it for a dessert. The filling was delicious even though I forgot the cream. My guests asked for the recipe. Thanks Jamie for your wonderful creativity.”
Yes, freezing should work (although it hasn't been tested for this recipe). Make sure you defrost the pie in the fridge overnight after removing from the freezer, then reheat it in the oven and check it's piping hot before serving. “Absolutely delicious, the instructions are really easy to follow so it's quite simple to make, even the pastry! (I haven't made pastry for years) Made it to have on Christmas Day as I'm not a fan of nut roast. The pastry just crumbles in your mouth, thanks Jamie for a fantastic recipe!”
“This was absolutely delicious and looked just like the photo. I had to make a change as I had no Ricotta so used goats cheese and substituted single cream for Soy cream, as that's what I had. Worked out perfectly you won't be disappointed.”
