I wanted to like this so badly, but it was a terrible combination of both bland and time consuming. I was hoping it was a Better Bolognese as in “better flavour” but, alas, it was not. I love Chef Oliver but this is not his best work…

Hithere, sorry you've had this experience – this is a batch-cook recipe so it takes a bit more time (but will save you time further down the line)! 'Better' Bolognese refers to it being meat reduced, rather than having better flavour :) Big love, The Jamie Oliver Team

Another delicious recipe and so easy to make! What I don't understand in this recipe is the addition of the baby ribs. The description says to add them but not what to do with them afterwards. I left them out. According to my (grand)children it tasted great! I wanted to keep some portions of the sauce in the freezer; it didn't work out. They all wanted a bowl to take home

Thanks for your review Anne, great to hear you and your family found this recipe simple and delicious. Hopefully some of the next batch might make it to your freezer! We think the ribs add extra flavour. We recommend adding them in step 5 and leave them in the Bolognese sauce, removing only the bones in step 6. We have also updated the recipe to make this clearer. I loved this recipe so much I've made it twice.. The only substitute I made was Basil and Oregano for the Rosemary. I highly recommend it.
