I’ve made this recipe several times. I use a Le Creuset Dutch oven and slow cook it for 6 - 8 hours in the oven, and it comes out perfectly every time without fail. It’s become a family favourite. Thank you, Jamie, for sharing this great recipe.

I haven’t had oxtail since i was a youngster, and it was usually in the form of a tin of oxtail soup and a tin of barley broth soup mixed together it was actually delicious. I visited my organic butchers on Saturday with my 94 year old mum and she noticed the oxtail so i bought a generous portion. Of course Jamie o was my first point of call for an oxtail stew and he hasn’t disappointed as always. Making stews at this time of year is so wholesome and having good recipes to try is even better. Ive been cooking along with Jamie since he was the naked chef, yes all that time.

Extremely tasty. Any tips as to what I can do with the left over ‘gravy’. Like should I put it with pasta? Thank you!

I tried it yesterday. Both my partner and I prefer it with bones, so I did not debone it. It was amazingly delicious. Thank you for this recipe

I never had ox tail but received one by accident and had to find how to cook it. I tried this recipe and it became a family favorite. It's perfect as it is.

This was so good! I had to add a bit more liquid partway through but otherwise made as written. Next time I might add more rosemary
