The coffee is too dark, and it should specify that roasted for Espresso as preffered option. I am using Aero Press and unfortunatelly I don't get much flavour out of it due to dark roast. However, the price is good for this quality. I won't buy it again unfortunately. This particular roast cannot compete with any SquareMile coffee. I would like to try other flavours however, if I don't like it , 250g of coffee may end up in my garden and there is no smaller option to purchase =(

Hi thanks for your feedback. To clarify for other customers reading, this is in no way a dark roast. Not sure if you’re confusing another from our range?

I have had over a kilo of this brand from a previous subscription supplier and when they stopped doing business with ALT I decided to order direct for my next supply.

Great tasting coffee, I find it requires a slightly finer grind than the Captain's roast.

A good entry level coffee. Not too strong or bold in flavour. Looking forward to trying out the whole range.

See my review above (Adventurer blend) - this is also very well flavoured, with the chocolatey notes that I like. Still playing with grind and timing as I managed to over brew a couple of times.

I have tried countless coffee beans in the past but this blend is by far my favourite. It is lovely and smooth and no back bitterness taste. Once ordered I'm kept updated about its progress from roasting to delivery so know when the beans arrive they are fresh and ready to brew. When you buy from a supermarket you never know how long it has been in the bag.
