“This is a decent coffee which I enjoyed very much but for an Espresso blend I would prefer the roast to be slightly darker. Recommended if you do not like a darker roast.”
“I don't think that there's ANY home barista who doesn't try different roasts and blends either by being recommended it by a friend or by seeing something on social media. Then it's the classic rabbit hole of weight, grind, brew time and yield for each blend. Some coffees get discarded immediately after the first cup - too dark a roast or too light - some you persevere with but unfortunately it's still a no go. I've been in that rabbit hole WAY to many times and wasted too much money ......HOWEVER, with the Captian's Roast from Altitude Coffee, no rabbit hole involved. The coffee was delivered very quickly after ordering and smelt heavenly after I'd opened the packaging and bag - all recyclable . Used the grind setting I already had for another blend I had I brewed my first espresso; the flow was a bit slow. Slight adjustment to the grind and .....a perfect brew. Great crema, and an aroma that even though my wife doesn't drink coffee made her comment as to how lovely it was. The taste was what I've been looking for for some time. Surprisingly enough I can heartily recommend this blend. It MAY take you down that rabbit hole but I hope that this recommendation will be one you enjoy”
