Lovely shampoo - so much lather for a small amount of shampoo, and it leaves my hair feeling good and behaving itself!

I used this product once, and straight away I had a stinging sensation on my scalp. It felt like using a washing up liquid in my hair. Also, the product/brand claims that is free from Sodium laureth sulfate (SLS), or Sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES), which is the same thing. This substance according to wiki is an anionic detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products (soaps, shampoos, toothpaste etc.). However, according to http://chemicaloftheday.squarespace.com/qa/2011/9/26/sodium-coco-sulfate.html the ingredient that makes the foam, the sodium coco sulfate is pretty similar to sodium lauryl sulfate. Therefore, I am not certain why this brand is claiming that their products are free from SLS or SLES.

Here is some further information on the SLS/SCS issue. Sodium coco sulfate (SCS) is not the same as Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). They are made the same way, by treating fatty acids with sulphuric acid and then neutralising with an alkali. The difference between them is that SLS is made using purified and isolated Lauric acid, whereas SCS is made using whole Coconut oil. The result of using these different starting materials is that SLS is a relatively simple molecule and has a small molecular mass enabling it to easily penetrate the outer layers of the skin and cause irritation to underlying living skin cells. On the other hand, SCS has a more complex molecular structure which has a much greater molecular mass. This prevents it from penetrating the epidermis, and means that it has far less irritancy as it cannot reach the living cells under the skin surface. This difference is recognised by international authorities, and in fact these two molecules have different CAS Numbers, the system used to identify molecular compounds and structures. Under this scheme the CAS Number for SLS is 151-21-3, but for SCS it is 97375-27-4. This can be confirmed by checking the official EU Cosmetic Ingredient Name (CosIng) website at http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/cosmetics/cosing/index.cfm?fuseaction=app.welcome Sodium coco sulfate is permitted in organic cosmetics certified by EcoCert and Organic Feed Federation under their Non-Food Certification Company scheme.

I'm very pleased with this shampoo . It foams well, you don't need much and it's improved the condition of my hair. Oh - and it smells lovely too. Will definitely buy again.

I've been hunting around for a shampoo that won't trash my baby fine, highlighted hair, and by jove chaps, I think this is the one! I tried all sorts of so called 'natual', no poo and SLS free ones before this, but this is the only one as far as I am concerned. It smells really good. It lathers up big time. It cleans your sweaty old hair! And with the partner conditioner, it leaves my hair shiny, full of volume and looking and feeling fantastic! Very pleased to have discovered Green People. I can't even remember where now, but I tried a shampoo sample pack for two quid and yep, I am on board! Thank you.

I didn't realise a shampoo could be so lovely. You don't need much to lather up, and rinsing is easy. It left my hair shinier and glossier than it's ever been. I am 60 with long grey and white hair so it's a thrill to have glossy hair again. I've also found my hair has stayed cleaner longer. I washed my hair on Sunday (a very hot day), did a lot of gardening in the heat of Bank Holiday Monday, cycled to work in London on Wednesday, and today Thursday my hair is still glossy and does not need washing! I used this shampoo with the matching conditioner, but only used the conditioiner on the ends of my hair - from the nape of my neck downwards. The glossiness was all over so has to be the shampoo. Highly recommended!

I've been using this shampoo for a while now and I love it! I think it looks after my slightly damaged her well and, most importantly, it doesn't feature any nasty chemicals!
