We select our product ingredients with great care, to minimise the potential for allergic reactions and sensitivities. Even natural ingredients can cause reactions and some people can be just as sensitive to them as to synthetic chemical ingredients. “The moisturiser is great. I love it. However, I feel bad using it as each bottle is so small and there is so much plastic involved. It lasts just over a month used 1-2x per day. 'Green' People need to sort this out. I would happily post back the bottles at my own expense for refill or reuse (recycling is not the answer here). I would also love to buy this in bigger volumes so there's less waste. I think I'm going to find an alternative product soon but it's hard as this really suits my skin.”

Thank you for your feedback it is very important to us. There are three main reasons why we use plastic tubes for packing most of our product range. The first is that this packaging offers the best protection to the product as it reduces the risk of bacterial contamination. This means we can use fewer preservatives in the formulations. The second reason is that advances in plastics manufacturing mean that the material we use is overall less environmentally damaging than some other forms of packaging. It is recyclable, biodegradable, can be burnt without releasing harmful or noxious gasses and costs far less in cost and fuel to transport. The third reason is for consumer safety as many of the products are used in the bath or shower where the use of glass could pose safety risks. We are well aware of the environmental impact of plastics, particularly with respect to marine wildlife. For this very reason we work with the Marine Conservation Society who are the leading charity dedicated to keeping our shores and seas clean and pollution-free. The plastics we use for our packaging are either Polyethylene or Polypropylene. Both of these are readily recyclable and are collected by local authorities for this purpose throughout the whole of the UK. Modern recycling processes allow both of these plastic types to be recycled many times, not just the once. There is therefore absolutely no need for our packaging to ever go to landfill, or to end up in our rivers, lakes or seas. The plastics and indeed all of the packaging materials that we use are checked, assessed and approved by Soil Association, Organic Food Federation and EcoCert, each of who have very strict standards on the environmental impact of cosmetics and their packaging. We are the only cosmetics company to be certified by all three of these internationally recognised independent certification bodies, and we pride ourselves in having environmental standards that are amongst the highest in our industry. We are passionate about producing cosmetic products that have minimal environmental impact and which respect our planet, from the growing and sourcing of our raw materials, through gentle and energy efficient manufacturing processes, to the end use of the product. These principles have always been central to our philosophy and are an integral part of our business. You may also be interested to know, our main manufacturing site uses wind-generated electricity. Also, the heat required for manufacturing processes is derived from a ground-sourced heat exchange system which is extremely energy efficient. All of the electricity at our office and warehouse facilities is from 100% renewable sources through Ecotricity. It is a condition of organic certification that all processes are energy efficient and that energy wastage should be kept to an absolute minimum. 50ml is a very common size for the majority of facial moisturisers to come in, you only need a very small amount of our product as a little goes a very long way. Our Vita Min Fix should last at least 2-3 months, is it possible you may be using a little too much?
