Juniperus - junipers - come in different forms as they make lovely upright conifers but are also perfect for ground cover and hiding any unwanted soil. The foliage is tightly knitted together and bear small black berries in Winter. Juniperus blue star is a low growing conifer that has glaucour silver blue foliage, height can reach 40cm with a width of 100cm. Junipers are very tolerant of most soils and conditions. Making a lovely plant in the garden as they don't need any work doing to them and they are native to the UK. The berries are sometimes used to flavour gins, liqueurs and sauces for to serve with game.
