Cercis also known as redbud. the are a large shrub or can be a tree shape, the have beautiful heart shaped leaves and they tend to flower before the leaves open in early to late spring. To grow and maintain cercis they can be pruned in late winter or early spring before the leaves appear. Grow in well drained soil in sun or partail shade. Plant in final position whilst young as dislikes transplanting when older. We would recommend staking the bush to get it to is maximum height, Red Force is a deciduous shrub. Has pinkish white flower flower buds the open to a lovely soft pink on bare stems. Once finished flowering the reddish purple foliage emerges. Height can reach 6m over many years.
