Veronicastrum or culvers root are tall architectural perennials with thin toothed leaves arranged in whorls around a central stem. In summer they throw up tall racemes of long thin flowers. They are useful for a back drop in a moist but well drained perennial border. Veronicaastrum virg. Erica its stems are clothed with leaves and in late summer, it bears narrow, upright spikes of pale pink flowers. Height 120cm
