Amelanchier October Flame Half Standard 10 Litre Pot Reviews

3.5 Rating 2 Reviews
Read Grasslands Nursery Reviews

Amelanchier or June Berry are lovely deciduous shrubs. They are valued for their five petaled star shaped, white or pink flushed flowers and fine Autumn colour which is followed by round or pear shaped, purple fruits. Amelanchier are excellent for inviting wildlife into the garden.  Amelanchiers thrive in acidic soil and want to be planted at the back of the border or as a specimen stand alone. The fruits on amelanchiers are nice to eat raw but they do have strong almond tastes, they are good for pies and jams. Amelanchier October Flame  is small, deciduous tree, naturally growing in pyramid shape. Beautiful oval shaped foliage, green, becoming bright orange red in autumn. White flowers in April-May. It produces little fruit in June-July .Height reaching 5 meters.

I was at home all day (as I usually am) and I expected that your delivery driver would knock my door and allow me to ensure the tree was to my satisfaction. The tree was just left on the path and the delivery note stuffed through my letterbox. Very offhand. Tree OK and planted successfully.

Hi. We have purchased plants from you for many years and the quality has always been exceptional. The price is excellent too. I ordered a tree from you as a gift for my husbands 50th which I ordered well in advance and delivery on his birthday was confirmed. During the afternoon of the delivery I was called to say the delivery van had broken down so the tree could not be delivered and you would be in touch with another date. As you can imaging, this was hugely disappointing as a party of friends were all waiting at our house for the tree. This was my husbands main present. The tree was delivered 3 days later but the delivery person did not knock on the door (my husband was in) but I came home to find that it was left outside and not handed to him. I can perfectly understand that your vehicle broke down, but I think it would have made all the difference if the delivery driver had knocked and handed the tree to my husband explained/apologised that it did not arrive on the day expected.
