Fagus Atropunicea - copper / purple beech - is a traditional English hedge that has lovely copper purple, oval wavy edged foliage that changes throughout the season with small white flowers in spring. It only needs to be trimmed once or twice a year, if let they can reach 15m. It is excellent for bring wildlife into the garden as they do tend to nest inside. Again it is happy in most sites apart from sitting wet.
