Cornus or Wedding Cake Tree are deciduous shrubs with bright showy stems. Foliage turns rich Red and Purple in Autumn. Cornus are best planted in a woodland garden or as a specimen tree. Dogwood require well-drained, fertile soil and prefer neutral to acidic soil. You can make your soil more acidic by adding ericaceuos compost. Cornus Controversa Variegata - is a deciduous tree that is strongly tiered like a wedding cake, that bears glossy green leaves boldly margined in creamy white.Produces large White flowers in summer followed by bluish-black fruits. They can reach a height of 4-8 metres.

“Somewhat nervous about buying this on line ss it is quite large and expensive, Pleased to say the quality is excellent and the tree has a lovely structure. It is now a feature in our garden and it will be exciting to see it develop. Packaging and delivery were good as well.”

“Arrived on April 12th and planted on 13th. Within 10 days virtually all leaves had turned brown and withered. Staff at Grasslands looked at photo and said frost had damaged it. We hadn’t been aware that we needed to protect it. Looks pretty awful now.”
