Cornus or Wedding Cake Tree are deciduous shrubs with bright showy stems. Foliage turns rich Red and Purple in Autumn. Cornus are best planted in a woodland garden or as a specimen tree. Dogwood require well-drained, fertile soil and prefer neutral to acidic soil. You can make your soil more acidic by adding ericaceuos compost. Cornus Controversa Variegata - is a deciduous tree that is strongly tiered like a wedding cake, that bears glossy green leaves boldly margined in creamy white.Produces large White flowers in summer followed by bluish-black fruits. They can reach a height of 4-8 metres.
