GU Old Style Gearbox 45mm Backset
A replacement centre case gearbox for the GU old style 45mm backset multipoint door lock mechanism. If you're having problems with your door lock, the gearbox is almost always the problem and changing it to a GU Old Style Gearbox is as simple as removing a few screws.
This particular version comes with a faceplate extension but it will work as a replacement for all 45mm backset GU Old Styles.

Grinding and resistance when applying lock(s) on multi lock door, tested the functionality prior to installation and found the same symptoms as above but thought it would disappear with usage.Another point was that the old gearbox looked to be better greased than the new one,and it had been in the door since house was built (24 years ago).I have already contacted Taylor at your company, and he/she? Has been most helpful with my issue.I have tried to add more grease to the lock without having to strip it down.Sorry to be so long winded.
