“We’ve done multiple tours during our 4 weeks in Indonesia, and originally chose ForeverVacation tour because of their impeccable communication and support (which I am still very happy with!).
However the tour itself didn’t quite live up to our expectations, while I understand this can vary depending on the day and guide you have, and I’m glad some folks are leaving raving reviews here.
The tour started nicely although our guide seemed a bit aloof and distant from the beginning - on the first waterfall he provided us with a bit of interesting facts, but for further ones he was rarely around, always telling us to go ahead without him, and appearing some 10-15 minutes later. He took some photos of us at the waterfalls and when we were swimming, but I honestly wouldn’t count on local guides’ photographers skills these were honestly not great, even comparing with other photos taken by local drivers.
The cherry on top for us was when a really heavy tropical rain started at our final waterfall on our way back and our guide took a scooter and left us behind, while it took us another 30 minutes to climb up the hill, constantly tripping on a slippery ground and completely wet and miserable.
There were multiples things which could have been better in terms of the service - would have been nice to have disposable ponchos in the car instead of old umbrellas, or keep some blankets/towels or at least some hot tea for cases like that (we were frozen after we got into the car). We were also offered packed breakfast in the beginning of the trip, which we said we will take later, but we never saw it again
So yeah, this was not the most comfortable tour and we would probably not repeat.”
“The team was great in communication, proactively giving out details of the tour and driver details. The provided car was great as well
A big let down is their driver/guide. He didn’t accompany us all the way in all places. He just pointed out where to go and we ended up missing out on one of the water fall mentioned since there were 2 falls to see in that same path and we saw just one. It is too tiring to go back to see it
The lunch was very substandard. In one of the local hotels near the falls, where we had noodles that was half cooked. Fortunately, didn’t cause a problem.
The bigger problem was that guide seemed to have a stomach problem due to which he was burping all the while. Though I can understand the problem and be more tolerant, the attitude of the whole team didn’t seem well. For example, I was requesting them to pick me up at ubud and drop me at Kuta (with both being in free coverage area), they insisted that they will have to drop back in ubud only and arrange another one to Kuta from there. Every communication regarding this, they wanted me to pay up more to drop in Kuta. The driver though was accommodating and dropped me directly to Kuta , but then asked me to pay him up directly at the end
As such, while the locations were good, going with this group was a mistake. I suggest you have a charter car booked and go to these places yourself. Given that the guide was not accompanying us everywhere, I didn’t see a point paying them up so much”
“Loved the day at the waterfalls in the nature relaxing swimming. Our tour guide was excellent telling us about the plants, taking photos for us and helping us down the stairs
We even got cake all in all a great day and experience”
