Organic Teff Grain is a 'pseudo grain' (it's faking it - teff's a seed really! but shhh...)
Is organic teff grain new to you?  These small reddish brown seeds look similar to alfalfa seed but can be cooked into a consistency similar to cous cous.  Our organic Teff Grain is certified gluten free and has a mild nutty flavour.  It is rich in a range of vitamins and minerals.

Teff was one of the earliest foods domesticated by the Ethiopian people between 8000 and 5000 BC so is considered an ancient grain.  It was coveted by ancient Ethiopians.  This is probably because it is a rich source of nutrition and one 90g serving is a source of Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Copper and Manganese.

Gluten rich options such as cous cous or pasta often need to be replaced and this is where options like Teff, Quinoa, Amaranth and Buckwheat are becoming more popular.  Teff makes a great option and it can be used in a whole host of recipes and you can easily grind it down to a flour and use it in a wide range of baking recipes.
